What is Direct Deposit?
Direct Deposit is the simple, safe, secure way to have your salary or Federal payment (Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Veterans Benefit Railroad Retirement Benefit, Government salary, etc.) deposited directly into your Credit Union. Your savings or checking account is credited on the payment date. It’s that simple!
Why should I use Direct Deposit?
It’s simple. You won’t need to make a special trip to cash or deposit your check. If you have your funds deposited to a PSECU checking account you can write checks from your account the same day or withdraw cash from an ATM the following business day.
It’s safe. You can be away from home and know that your check is not sitting in your mailbox unprotected. You won’t have to worry about your check being lost or stolen.
It’s secure. Your payment arrives on time with no mail delays. It is posted to your account electronically.
How do I sign up for Direct Deposit?
It’s easy and takes only a few minutes! Give us a call and let us know what type of check you are receiving and the type of account you would like to deposit it to. We will mail the appropriate form to you, or you can drop by and fill it out in person. You can expect your Direct Deposit to begin within 30 to 60 days.
How do I know my deposit was made?
Just give us a call. We’ll be happy to check your account history. In addition, your account statement will show the amount sent.
What if there is a problem with my Direct Deposit payment?
If something goes wrong, contact your employer or the Federal agency that pays you (Federal agency telephone numbers are listed at the end of this article). Questions about your Federal or military salary should be directed to your agency’s personnel office. Keep in mind, recipients of Direct Deposit payments are 20 times less likely to have problems with their payments than check recipients. When problems occur, they can usually be resolved within 24 hours, compared with about 14 days to resolve problems with checks.
