Puget Sound Energy Credit Union, originally chartered in 1934 as Puget Sound Power & Light Employees Credit Union, remains the not-for-profit banking alternative owned by you, our members. In the 1970’s, we became Puget Power Credit Union, changing our name along with our sponsor company’s employee group.
Then, in 1997, Puget Power merged with Washington Natural Gas and became Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Therefore, during that same year, we merged with WANAGASCO Employees Federal Credit Union and Western Division (PSP&L) Employees Credit Union, becoming Puget Sound Energy Credit Union (PSE Credit Union or PSECU). In January 2000, we merged with PSE-Northern Credit Union, adding another 400 members.
Since then, we have continued to add services, expand our facilities and serve you, our loyal membership: PSE employees and your families. We take great pride in helping you get the best value for your dollar.
If you are a new member, you will find membership with us entitles you to many low cost or free benefits. Because you are a shareholder, we are able to return our earnings to you in the form of higher dividend (interest) rates on savings and lower rates on loans.
